Organisation aims and activities: The International Bureau for Children’s Rights (IBCR) is an
international non-governmental organisation created to ensure that children’s rights are respected, to identify and draw attention to root causes of violations, and to seek
practical solutions through knowledge, public awareness and international cooperation.


Further details: Mission: • To promote and protect the rights of the child in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) and its Optional Protocols, while taking into account the objectives set by the international community, notably the Millennium Development Goals; • Identifying and bringing to light violations of rights and proposing practical solutions. Objectives: • Raising public awareness of children’s rights; • Developing strategies and partnerships to respond to violations; • Encouraging the exchange of experiences, knowledge and good practices; and • Supporting initiatives that defend children’s rights. The principal activities are undertaken within the organization’s four (4) programs: 1) the Promotion of the Convention on the rights of the child which includes the Country Profiles on the implementation of the Convention; 2) the children and armed conflict programme, 3) the Child Victims and Witnesses of Crimes program; 4) the Child Victims of Sexual Exploitation program.
