Further details: Activities in 1999: * In early 1999 ECPAT-USA circulated a sign-on letter to NGOs to support the amendment to federal legislation that would require the Federal Aviation Administration to promulgate regulations requiring airports and airlines to publicise the American law against child sex tourism. The letter was sent to 100 US Senators. * ECPAT – USA has been working for more than a year to get the cooperation of American airports and airlines to publicise these laws voluntarily. A number of female travel agents have been distributing the brochures. * ECPAT USA began a study of child prostitution in the United States.  It completed a literature review and held interviews with informers in the New York City area.
