It has been 3 years since the violence against civilians has uprooted millions of people in Darfur, yet the causes of the conflict remain unresolved.

Widespread violence and attacks on humanitarian organisations have worsened, continuing the displacement of civilians and impeding the delivery of essential services to the needy populations. The culture of impunity and lawlessness must stop and humanitarian organisations must be allowed to freely access affected areas and populations. The international community must increase and sustain a concerted high level political effort to exert maximum pressure on all parties in order to immediately come to political and humanitarian solutions.

The Darfur crisis has already impacted negatively on millions of children in Darfur, and if it is not resolved, it will have far reaching repercussions for many tens of thousands of children in the decades to come.
