The Ghana NGO Report to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child Supplementary information is provided on Ghana’s 2nd periodic report on the implementation of the UN CRC. It commends the State for an adequate legislative framework for children. It raises concerns on the lack or ineffective implementation of policies and laws; weak capacity of State institutions; lack of adequate data; poverty affecting the realization of child rights; absence of monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess interventions for children; and the need for full commitment to good governance, the rule of law, equality, non-discrimination and citizen participation in development.
