The report describes the situation of infant and young child feeding in the Russian Federation. It highlights the progress made by the country in implementing the Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding and the International code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. It contains data on the situation of breastfeeding, the efforts made by the government to promote breastfeeding, examples of violations of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, the Baby Friendly Hospitals Initiative, maternity protection and the situation of HIV and infant feeding.
