This report was jointly prapared by Bundesfachverband Unbegleitete Minderjahrige Fluchtlinge and the Federal Association for Unaccompanied Refugee Minors in view of the 3rd and 4rd periodic review of Germany under the UN CRC. Issues discussed in the report include 16- and 17- year-olds being treated as adults, difficult access to health care and inadequate access to education for refugee minors, discrimination resulting from the different practices in the 16 federal States, implementation of the best interest principle, age assessment, family reunification and separation due to forced return, and other asylum-related issues like the airport procedure are examined as well.
