Children's Ombudsperson
The Institution of the Human Rights Ombudsmen (http://www.ombudsmen.gov.ba/IndexEn.aspx) has a Department for Protection of the Rights of the Child. In Republic of Srpska, the Office of the Ombudsman for Children (http://crin.org/organisations/viewOrg.asp?ID=4705) was established in 2008 by virtue of the Legal Act of Ombudsmen for Children. These bodies are tasked with responding to complaints of poor functioning of state bodies or breaches of human rights by state bodies and can issue recommendations to undertake measures to improve the observance of human rights. However, in its Concluding Observations of 2012, the Committee on the Rights of the Child has noted that such recommendations have had little or no impact.
