Children's Ombudsperson
In its Concluding Observations of 2003, the Committee on the Rights of the Child was critical of the absence of a comprehensive and independent monitoring mechanism for the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Committee urged the State to consider establishing an independent mechanism in accordance with the Paris Principles to monitor and evaluate the progress made in the implementation of the Convention.
