Summary:
Our research indicates that in Yemen, may be lawfully sentenced to corporal punishment for crimes committed while under the age of 18 and that the death penalty is carried out for child offenders despite a prohibition on such sentences.
This report was submitted ahead of Yemen's review by the Human Rights Committee in March 2012 as part of our campaign against inhuman sentencing of children – defined to include sentences of death, life imprisonment and corporal punishment.
