Listed below are some key ongoing and successful advocacy initiatives challenging an aspect of discrimination against children.
If you have any case studies you would like to contribute, please email info@crin.org. We are particularly interested in hearing about examples where children have advocated on their own behalf.

Campaign to establish a complaints mechanism under the UN CRC
The CRC is the only international human rights treaty with a mandatory reporting procedure which does not have a communications procedure

Advocacy examples
Ongoing:
- A campaign by the Consortium for Street Children aims to reduce the levels of violence against street-involved children around the world. It includes a call to decriminalise so-called status offences which serve to discriminate against some children. Sign the petition here.
Successful:
- Croatia: Homophobic school text books 'discriminatory', rules rights body filed with the European Committee of Social Rights by: INTERIGHTS, the International Centre for the Legal Protection of Human Rights, in collaboration with the Center for Reproductive Rights and the Center for Education, Counseling and Research (CESI), in October 2007.
