Pourtant, ce 5 septembre, un cap considérable en matière de droit du travail a été franchi : le Traité international sur les droits des employés de maison est entré en vigueur. Il va offrir à des dizaines de millions de domestiques dans le monde des protections vitales. Reste que le nombre de pays ayant ratifié ce traité reste maigre et que la bataille est encore loin d’être gagnée.

Tens of thousands of civilians are killed and injured every year by the use of explosive weapons in populated areas. Children are disproportionately affected by explosive attacks. In a United Nations system wide effort, military and civilian protection experts came together in New York to analyse direct and long-term effects of the weapons and to discuss ways to reduce civilian casualties and human suffering.

news CHILD LABOUR: Countries urged to adopt treaty to protect child domestic workers
Ten leading international organisations, including CRIN, have called on governments around the globe to protect child domestic workers and to ratify the ILO Domestic Workers Convention (Convention 189 concerning Decent Work for Domestic Workers). The Convention, adopted in June 2011, will help eliminate child domestic labour and improve the lives of an estimated 15 million child domestic workers.
