Children's Ombudsperson

The Conseiler en Charge de recours et de la Médiation (Councillor Responsible for Appeals and Mediation) acts as an Ombudsperson in Monaco. However, in its Concluding Observations of 2013, the Committee on the Rights of the Child expressed concern that the Conseiler was not in full compliance with the Paris Principles, and urged the State to expand its functions to include a mandate to monitor human rights; and to receive, investigate and address complaints by children in a child-sensitive manner.
