Child Poverty Strategy Progress Report 2013
Children's Commissioner for Wales
The economic challenges facing families bringing up children and young people in Wales have become even greater, warns Keith Towler the Children’s Commissioner for Wales. More and more families are struggling to meet living costs and at the same time the UK Government’s welfare reforms are hitting families with dependent children particularly hard.
That's why it has never been so important for us to adopt a rights based approach to tackling child poverty to ensure that children and young people growing up in difficult financial circumstances are able to reachtheir potential.
The stark message comes as the Children’s Commissioner publishes his Child Poverty Progress Report which outlines the progress that has been made against three key commitments within the Commissioner’s Child Poverty Strategy (2012).
