Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Republic of Cyprus

Organisation aims and activities: The institution of the Commissioner for Children’s Rights of the Republic of Cyprus was established by the Commissioner for the Protection of Children’s Rights Law, 2007 [Law 74(I)/2007] of the Republic of Cyprus, which came into force on 22/6/2007. Pursuant to Law 74(I)/2007, Ms Leda Koursoumba was appointed first Commissioner on 29/8/2007 and assumed her duties on 6/2/2008.
